What is wilder building?

The Wilder Building is a historic building located in downtown Rochester, New York. The building was designed by prominent architects Gordon & Kaelber and was completed in 1927. It is an example of the Art Deco style of architecture that was popular in the 1920s and 1930s.

The building was originally built for the Wilder-Dimitroff Insurance Company, which occupied it until 1968. It was then sold to the City of Rochester and served as the city's main offices until 1995. In 1996 the Wilder Building was purchased by the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and underwent extensive renovation to become an RIT campus.

Today, the Wilder Building serves as a hub of activity for RIT in Rochester. It houses classrooms, laboratories, administrative offices, and a variety of student services. It is also available for use by the public, with event spaces and conference facilities available for rent. The Wilder Building is a registered historic landmark and is considered one of Rochester's most significant buildings.
